Illegal mining is the act of extracting minerals such as gold and diamond without any legal certificate granted by government to operate. This is commonly known in Ghana as 'Galamsey'. Illegal mining has caused huge damage to water bodies in Ghana . Example is the polluted River PRA. It is now clear that in the year 2020, Ghana would have to import water into the country for all our water bodies are being polluted through illegal mining. Is about time Ghanaians rise and help eliminate illegal mining

The President has taken an important step to stop illegal mining by the Chinese nationals in Ghana but that is not enough, what is left for us as citizens is to help the government by reporting  such suspected activities to the law enforcing agencies such as the police.
