Why Libraries Are Important

    A library is a collection of books, not necessarily a large building with a collection of books. This means that you can have a library in your classroom, school or home. There are various types of libraries and each type provides a different service to the user. They are; Class libraries, school libraries, public libraries, Private libraries and University libraries. With the existence of libraries, students get vital information on all subjects and also helps in research. Someone may ask, "Why are libraries important?" Libraries are important because:

     Past questions of all examinations can be found at the library. This help students at the Junior High School level, Senior High School and the University level to prepare for their final exams. As students read past questions, they gain more knowledge and learn new things they don't know. This makes them ready and mentally fit to write their final exams.

      Books, including Encyclopedias and Dictionaries an be found at the library which helps students in research issues. Using the encyclopedias, students learn vital information on all subjects . Also the dictionary helps students to learn new words to improve their vocabulary.

       Periodicals including magazines, journals and newspapers found at the library keep students updated with current and past issues to update their knowledge. Newspapets, magazines and journals give students first hand information on all subjects and also current and past issues.

         Dissertations, academic research work of past students and lectures at the library help students to get information to write good English Composition and construct meaningful sentences.

          In accordance to the above stated facts, without doubt, libraries are very important so students should visit the library as often as they can.educationghblog.blogspot.com
